Did you happen to read John Kostrzewa’s column, "R.I.: A State in Search of an Identity" in yesterday’s ProJo? In it, he talks about Rhode Island’s need to re-invent itself and its economy, shifting to “a knowledge-based economy built on research, science and technology.” I couldn’t agree more.

Yesterday, we honored fathers and I couldn’t help reflecting on all that I’ve learned from my Dad. Growing up, he was my role model, teaching me about the value of hard work, partnership and above all, the importance of a resilient spirit.
